Blackburn Cathedral announces the appointment of Mr John Hosking to a brand-new, exciting position of ‘Organist in Residence’.

John will be responsible for highlighting the Cathedral’s iconic Walker/Wood Pipe Organ in Concerts and Services, and John will also act as a musical ambassador for Blackburn Cathedral, as one of the UK’s most sought-after recitalists.In the coming years, John will help put Blackburn’s famous Organ firmly in its place on the world stage, through media; events; and promotions. John will also oversee the digital sampling of Blackburn’s famous Organ so that it is Hauptwerk-compatible and can be played in any home.John will join the Cathedral Music team from 1st September 2022 and will work closely with our Organist and Director of Music, Mr John Robinson, in further enhancing the musical tradition established here at Blackburn Cathedral.
