Circus! Music! The National Festival of Making’s Performance Programme Revealed

The sound of music and the unforgettable sight of expressive circus performance features as part of The National Festival of Making 2018, with the announcement that Spain’s Vaiven Circo Danza will perform their acclaimed, construction-meets-circus, Do Not Disturb street show for the first time outside London, the Urban Arts Experience will open a mobile recording studio to budding musicians, DJs and producers and 40 young musicians are to make themselves heard with new performance, MAKE IT UP! to celebrate Lancashire life.

The first ever National Festival of Making in 2017 welcomed 30,000 people of all ages to the heart of Lancashire, with a range of thrilling street performances making unforgettable memories and . ‘A new kind of festival for a new age of making’ returns to the manufacturing heartland of Blackburn, Lancashire for a second unmissable year, promising two more exciting days of performance, alongside innovative art installations, workshops and markets throughout the town centre.

Supported again by co-founder and influential designer, Wayne Hemingway, The National Festival of Making brings together artists, designers, national and international manufacturers, small-scale makers and the public together to explore their making potential. Located under an hour’s drive from Manchester, Liverpool and Leeds and easily reachable by rail and bus, the festival finds its home in Blackburn once again, where the manufacturing industry and the entrepreneurial spirit are still in full bloom.
