As we celebrate our centenary, we will commemorate this special time in the life of the Cathedral by hosting a unique exhibition sharing stories of faith from across the Diocese.
As part of the Blackburn Cathedral centenary in 2026, we are celebrating the diverse and vibrant faith journeys of people from across Lancashire.
We would love to hear and share your story of how you came to faith, how it has shaped the person you are and your hopes for the next one hundred years.

About the Project
As part of our centenary, we shall celebrate the diverse and vibrant faith journeys of people across Lancashire.
We will do this in a number of different ways but the 100 Faith Stories project is the centrepiece of these activities and we are looking for individuals to share their stories with us.
Once we have compiled 100 stories, we will host a unique exhibition called “100 Faith Stories” throughout 2026 at Blackburn Cathedral.
The exhibition will be enhanced further by the publication of an accompanying coffee table book.
The Exhibition
The exhibition will feature the story of faith of 100 different participants along with a specially commissioned portrait of each contributor.
They will be displayed at the Cathedral throughout 2026, the exhibition will be open to all and there will be no charge for entry.
The exhibition may then be displayed elsewhere after 2026 as we hope to share the wonderful and inspiring stories we gather with as many people as possible.
The Book
In addition to the exhibition, we will also create a beautifully crafted coffee table book which will be available to purchase.
The accompanying book will include each of the 100 faith stories and will act as a unique legacy of the Centenary.
It is hoped that it will be both a way to celebrate faith across the diocese but also to build interest and drive engagement across our communities.
About the Portraits
Our photographer will visit you to carefully capture your portrait which will help bring your story of faith to life.
We'd like you to consider your life, work, interests and individuality to ensure the image reflects what makes you unique.
Scheduled in advance, the photography sessions will be relaxed and informal and shouldn't take more than an hour at most.
