Statement from The Bishop of Blackburn on Friday 27th June 2025.
The Dean of Blackburn has been suspended from his post pending the outcome of a complaint made against him under the Clergy Discipline Measure.
Suspension is a neutral act and does not presume guilt and so speculation is unhelpful.
The Bishop of Blackburn will be consulting with the Cathedral’s Chapter to appoint an Interim Dean and this will be announced soon.
