Regular services

Worship takes place in the Cathedral every day of the year. Find out when and how you can join us.

Worship is at the heart of the Cathedral every day of the year there are at least two services – morning prayer and evening prayer.

Eucharistic services take place six days a week. Throughout the Christian calendar there are a host of services which celebrate and support the life of the city, diocese and region.

We rejoice in our vibrant choral tradition. Music and choirs enrich the services here and remain at the centre of many acts of worship.

Our services are open to all, including you, and we would love to welcome you. Click here to find out more about the Christian faith.

Below you can find our regular pattern, please check the website for changes to this schedule which are rare. During the school holidays Evensong on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday reverts to Evening Prayer in the Jesus Chapel.

Sunday Services
Join us for a Common Worship Eucharist service in the South Transept. This service lasts approximately 1 hour and is often attended by families with young children.
This is our main Sunday morning service and is a celebration of The Eucharist, often called Holy Communion, instituted by Jesus at the Last Supper. It takes place in the Nave of the Cathedral every week. In this service we hear and respond to readings from the Bible and then take, bless and share bread and wine, following Jesus’ command to do this in remembrance of Him. This service is live-streamed every week so that you can join us from wherever you are in the world. Click here to view the order of service for this week and to join the live-stream.
On Sundays, Evensong takes place in the Nave at 4pm. This service is focused on the singing of texts taken directly from the Bible, in addition to hearing the Bible reading and prayers. The service is usually sung by one of the Cathedral choirs. You can read more about our choirs here.
