Here are all the events taking place during the installation of Gaia at Blackburn Cathedral between 6th October and 16th November.
In addition to daytime and evening viewing of Gaia, there are a number of special events taking place around the installation of Gaia at Blackburn Cathedral.
The Lords Prayer Tour - Friday 10th October 2025
The Lord’s Prayer not only guides our prayers but also influences how we live our daily lives. Whether you know the prayer well or are exploring its significance for the first time, you are warmly invited to join us at a special event as part of a wider series of events taking place across the North of England.
This Faith in the North event will include inspiring music, thought-provoking film and a compelling teaching session led by the Archbishop of York. There will also be a Q&A session, providing an opportunity for reflection and discussion.
Queen by Candlelight - Saturday 11th October 2025
Featuring a cast of West End Singers accompanied by an epic live rock band, experience Queen as never heard before.

Gin & Rum Festival - Saturday 18th October 2025
The highly anticipated Gin & Rum Festival comes to Blackburn Cathedral offering a weekend of tasting, entertainment, and discovery. The festival promises to be the party of the year whilst celebrating everything Gin and Rum!

Interstellar with Roger Sayer - Friday 24th October 2025
Join us for a very special concert celebrating Christopher Nolan’s epic film Interstellar. Roger Sayer, the organist on the original film soundtrack, will perform a suite of Hans Zimmer’s music from the film’s iconic score alongside intergalactic favourites.
Roger will also discuss working with both Nolan and Zimmer, which will be followed by an audience Q&A.
Kathleen Ferrier Bursary Competition - Saturday 25th October 2025
Blackburn contralto Kathleen Ferrier was (and still is) one of the world’s great singers. Her appeal transcends all ages and generations, more so perhaps than any other singer and her voice is still heard and loved by millions around the world.
The Kathleen Ferrier Bursary Competition takes place with 16 short recitals before 5 finalists are chosen with with prizes being presented to the winners at the end of the evening.
Sound Bath Under Gaia - Monday 27th October 2025

Creation Care Conference - Friday 31st October & Saturday 1st November 2025
In the modern world the green agenda is a controversial political issue: for some people climate change and environmental disaster is an existential crisis and for others it is a hoax.
