From Monday 20th October, Checks & Greys, the popular café located within Blackburn Cathedral, will be closed on Mondays.

The café will continue to operate as usual from Tuesday to Sunday, maintaining its full menu, regular opening hours, and offering home delivery through online platforms.

A spokesperson for Checks & Greys said:

Our team is committed to delivering the warm welcome and high-quality home-cooked food our customers expect. To ensure we continue to deliver that experience consistently, we’ve made the decision to give our staff a well-earned day off each week.

This reflects our commitment to investing in our team, supporting their wellbeing, and maintaining the high standards that our guests value.

The decision comes during a period of strong growth for Checks & Greys and its support for the rapidly expanding programme of events at Blackburn Cathedral. This has driven a reprioritisation of staffing resource to meet this growing demand.

As the Cathedral continues to develop as one of the North West’s leading venues for the arts, culture and community engagement, Checks & Greys will deliver the excellent service, delicious food and friendly welcome that customers have come to expect six days a week.
