Archives Uncovered

Blackburn Cathedral will host a special exhibition throughout 2026, our centenary year, featuring archive pieces, stories and images.

As part of our Centenary celebrations, Blackburn Cathedral will exhibit a range of items from our extensive archives throughout 2026.

We'll celebrate the people, moments, and memories that have shaped your Cathedral over the past 100 years.

This exhibition will - for the first time - unveil some of the unique treasures and the history of many items from within our extensive archives.

About the Archives Uncovered Exhibition

Sharing fascinating insights and memories that have helped shape Cathedral life over the past century.

Each item and its story will help tell the history of a Cathedral at the heart of its community.

Get Involved

We’re calling on our Cathedral family and the wider community to share their stories. Perhaps you or a family member were baptised, married, or confirmed here, or did you sing in the choir?

Was a relative employed in the construction of the building or did you watch on as our iconic Lantern Tower was hoisted into place? Whether you have interesting memories, artefacts, memorabilia or personal anecdotes, we'd love to hear from you.

If you have memories or something to share, please do get in touch - as each one helps tell the story of a Cathedral at the heart of its community.

Share your story Chevron
