Cathedral to Host Community Health and Wellbeing Day
Free community health and wellbeing drop-in event at Blackburn Cathedral will connect Lancashire residents with 30+ local support services.
Blackburn Cathedral is set to host a major Community Health and Wellbeing Day, bringing together more than 30 local and national charities, NHS teams, and specialist organisations under one roof.
The informal drop-in event offers residents direct, face-to-face access to experts across health, social care, and community support without the need for appointments or waiting lists.
Designed as an accessible, welcoming space for all, the event will provide practical guidance for individuals seeking to improve their own health, carers looking for support for loved ones, and families navigating various life stages.
Key highlights and support available:
Direct Access to Specialists: Speak directly with representatives from over 30 leading support networks, including Age UK, Alzheimer’s Society, Samaritans, Christians Against Poverty, and East Lancashire Hospice.
Comprehensive Care Services: Access advice covering mental health guidance, eldercare, carers’ support, child and NHS vaccinations, debt relief, sexual health, and disability services.
Community Initiatives: Discover local Lancashire services, including the Blackburn Neighbourhood Policing Scheme, Dial a Ride, Deaf Village Northwest, and the Clitheroe Repair Café.
The Revd. Canon Andrew Horsfall, Interim Dean of Blackburn said:
