Cover to Cover Bible Reading

From Sunday 4th October until Wednesday 7th October we will continuously read the whole Bible aloud, cover to cover.

This is a major community undertaking and the non-stop Bible reading is part of our centenary celebrations and it will greatly enhance the Tyndale 500 Exhibition.

Hundreds of voices from across the diocese will each deliver a 15 minute passage during this non-stop Bible reading which forms part of our centenary celebrations.

You are invited to signup and take part in this significant event. All of the overnight slots have been filled so we only need readers from 8.30am until 8.30pm on each day.

Please note that as demand is expected to be high and slots are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, we encourage you to book early to avoid disappointment.

In order to take part in this continuous relay of readers over four days, please see the instructions and select your slot(s) below:

How to Sign Up and Take Part

To take part, you must book a slot(s) and the TeamUp calendar we are using for this project is free to use. For the purposes of taking part you do not need an account.

There are 150 daytime slots in total and each one is shown with the date, time and reading. Once you decide which slot(s) you would like to read, click on it to open the session.

To sign up for this slot, simply click on the ‘Signup’ button on the right hand side (if you are using a mobile device, please click on the icon on the left hand side).

Provide your full name and your email address (checking carefully that you have entered your email correctly) in order to receive a confirmation email.

You will need to repeat this process for each slot you wish to book.

Please note: when slots have been filled they will be removed as soon as possible. If the slot or reading you would like is not available, please choose another.

Tyndale 500 Exhibition: September - November 2026

Tyndale 500 will bring together the story of Tyndale's translation, the turbulent world of Tudor England, and the extraordinary technology of the early printing press.

At its heart will be a rare original 1535 edition of Tyndale's English New Testament (on loan from the British Library) - a 500-year-old printed witness to the moment Scripture began to travel widely in the language of the people.

Visiting the Exhibition

Whether you’re visiting as a pilgrim, a history-lover, a reader of Scripture, or simply curious, guests are welcome to view the exhibition during the Cathedral's normal opening hours (some entry restrictions may apply on certain days).

There is no charge to visit, however as a charity, we rely on donations to support the costs and visitor generosity enables us to continue hosting important events like this in the future.
