Celebrating 150 Years of the Mothers Union - From Coast to Country - Christian Care for Families in Lancashire and Worldwide
Join Blackburn Diocese Mothers’ Union as they celebrate their 150th birthday with a magnificent exhibition showcasing the work of the Mothers’ Union in the diocese, nationally and worldwide as members seek to put their faith into action.
Exhibits will highlight campaigns raising awareness of domestic abuse and modern-day slavery whilst others provide examples of the outreach work undertaken to support hospitals, prisons and refuges.
Also on display will be deanery and branch banners, showcasing the skill and vision of those who designed and made them.
The day will reach a climax in a service, led by the Bishop of Blackburn, from 2pm until 3pm to remember and give thanks for Mothers’ Union founder Mary Sumner and her legacy today.
All are welcome on this special day which offers the opportunity to experience the friendship and fellowship enjoyed by members in their branches across the diocese.
