Stations of the Cross – Celebrating The Journey
31st March at 6:30 pm
Details
It is 21 years since the powerful series of paintings known as The Journey was commissioned by Blackburn Cathedral.
To mark this anniversary a special Stations of the Cross service will take place on Tuesday 31st March at 6.30pm.
This year we will use these images to commemorate Jesus Christ’s Passion, tracing His path from condemnation to burial, in prayerful reflection in a service known as “The Stations of the Cross”.
We will be joined by the artist Penny Warden and the reflection will be led by former Archbishop of Canterbury Dr Rowan Williams.
The service will last around an hour and will include music.
Please note this service tends to include more movement than you may be used to as we walk around the building from painting to painting.
