Blackburn Cathedral to Host Volunteer Roadshow

As part of our support of Volunteer Week 2025, come and explore the ways you can be a part of a venue that’s open to all at our Volunteer Roadshow.
To learn more about how to contribute to the many aspects of Cathedral life, we are delighted to be hosting an informal Volunteer Roadshow, where there’ll be the chance to discover all that’s involved and how people can share their skills.
Taking place on Saturday 14th June from 1-3pm in the Crypt, guests will be able to chat with current volunteers, hear what they enjoy most and see how they can find their place with us.
Revd James Lawrence, Canon Missioner at Blackburn Cathedral, said:
Life as we know it at Blackburn Cathedral simply wouldn’t be possible without the help of our dedicated volunteers and we are always keen for new faces to join them on our team. The Volunteer Roadshow will be a chance to learn more about the varied roles we offer and to showcase the wonderful opportunities that exist for volunteers to help within the life and service of the Cathedral.
Roles on offer include welcoming guests, acting as a host at exhibitions and other events, helping during school visits and tourist groups. There are also other unique roles such as livestream operators, flower arrangers and bellringers for example.
This is a great opportunity to find out more and be inspired by all our different volunteer groups in a pressure-free, friendly and relaxed environment.
Drop in any time – everybody welcome!
