We’re planning an exciting Summer of fun for families at Blackburn Cathedral and our popular Summer Trails return, with new challenges, creative tasks and lots to uncover.
There’ll be plenty to keep young minds engaged, from exploring the Cathedral to hands-on activities designed to spark their imagination.
Whether you're visiting for the first time or you’ve joined us in previous years, there'll be something new for everyone to enjoy - what will you discover?
Summer events at Blackburn Cathedral
Blackburn Cathedral is home to a wide range of special events this Summer including the world-famous Black Dyke Band live in concert, Fleetwood Mac by Candlelight and of course, we'll be hosting the National Festival of Making too.
Plus there's organ concerts, Princess Proms, talks and fundraising events as well as a Blackburn Chamber Choir concert, VJ Day 80th Anniversary Evensong and Angela Hicks live in concert too.
There really is something for everyone this Summer.

The gardens at Blackburn Cathedral are a popular spot during the Summer months. We're open every day of the year and all are warmly welcome to visit and take a break from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
In addition to the gardens which are perfect for a Summer picnic or to wander and relax, the Cathedral is home to a number of extraordinary pieces of modern art, some beautiful chapels where you can stop to pray and light a candle or perhaps visit the popular Cathedral café, Checks & Greys.
