We are thrilled to announce the launch of our new interactive Cathedral Trail, a carefully curated journey highlighting 12 key points of interest within Blackburn Cathedral.

This engaging trail is designed to guide guests through the rich tapestry of history, faith, and architectural beauty that our beloved Cathedral has to offer.

Upon entering the Cathedral, guests will be greeted with a brand new welcome leaflet and this informative guide provides a brief history, a timeline of our most significant moments and insights into daily life within our sacred space.

The leaflet also includes the trail guide, encouraging guests to explore the unique elements that make our Cathedral so special.

Each point of interest along the trail is marked with new signage, featuring a number that corresponds to further details available on our website. Visitors can access this information by scanning the QR code on each sign, providing a deeper understanding of the Cathedral’s historical and spiritual significance.

At each stop on the trail, there is a prayer and an opportunity for deeper reflection and these moments are designed to enrich your visit, offering a chance to take a moment, contemplate and connect with the heritage of our Cathedral.

Speaking of the launch of the Cathedral Trail, Canon Missioner, James Lawrence said:

We are excited to offer this new interactive trail to our guests and  it is our aim to provide an enriching experience that combines historical insight with spiritual reflection, allowing everyone to appreciate the beauty and significance of Blackburn Cathedral.

While there is no charge for entry, we kindly encourage donations to support the ongoing preservation of the Cathedral. Contributions can be made using our donation boxes or contactless giving points, ensuring that we can continue to welcome all who seek solace and inspiration within our walls.

We extend a warm invitation to both new and returning visitors to experience the new Cathedral Trail. Whether exploring the wonder of our architecture, learning about our history for the first time, or simply seeking a moment of quiet reflection, Blackburn Cathedral offers a unique and welcoming environment.

We look forward to welcoming you and sharing the wonders of Blackburn Cathedral.

Come, explore, and be inspired.
