Enter our photography competition for a chance to win a cash prize and see your entry displayed in a special exhibition this November.

Competition Details
Details: You have the chance of winning a cash prize and seeing your image displayed in a prestigious photography exhibition throughout November at Blackburn Cathedral. Photographers of all ages and skill levels from anywhere in the United Kingdom are invited to enter this competition and full details are as follows:

Theme: The Moon - your image must feature the real moon in some form

Start date: September 1st 2024

Closing date: 23:59, September 30th 2024

Entry fee: Free

Restrictions: You must be a UK resident
In addition to seeing your image displayed in a prestigious photography exhibition and your work viewed by thousands of visitors, there is the chance to win a cash prize:

£500 for the overall winner.
£250 for a highly commended entrant.
£250 for The 'People's Choice Award'.
One image will also be selected from the shortlisted entries as a 'People's Choice Award' through online visitor voting during the exhibition.

Voting will be open during the installation of the Museum of the Moon, at Blackburn Cathedral in November 2024, with the winner being notified thereafter.

Shortlisted entries will be displayed during the installation of Luke Jerram's incredible Museum of the Moon, at Blackburn Cathedral in November 2024.

Blackburn Cathedral will be open from 8.30am until 5pm most days throughout November (please note that visitor restrictions may apply on certain days. For details of temporary closures or alterations to our standard pattern of opening, please see the main Cathedral events calendar).

There is no charge for daytime entry and we look forward to welcoming you to see the Moon and the photography exhibition at Blackburn Cathedral.
The competition judging panel will be made up of key personnel including an award-winning astrophotographer, leading photography academics, an astrophysicist and an individual from the photography industry.

The judges come from a range of disciplines and will consider images according to criteria comprising technical skills, artistic merit and originality.
