The Friends of Blackburn Cathedral
The Friends of Blackburn Cathedral is an independent charity and is made up of a dedicated group of supporters that have the welfare of the Cathedral at heart.
The aim of the Friends is to raise the Cathedral’s profile by stimulating public interest, updating those who support the Cathedral in its life of worship and service and finally, maintaining and enhancing the fabric of the Cathedral in order for it to succeed in its mission.
Members look to enhance the fabric and facilities of the Cathedral through many social and spiritual activities and are a greatly valued supporter of the Cathedral.
Members are bound by their desire to play their part in preserving it for future generations, supporting its departments and adding to its adornment. They work to fund projects that care for its fabric and enrich its worship.
The Friends fundraise for vital projects by organising events for the group and our wider communities with the aim of promoting friendship and fellowship.
Membership Benefits
Membership runs from the 1st January to the 31st December each year and once you become a Friend you will be supporting our valuable work. You will receive a welcome pack and regular newsletters detailing the events taking place at Lancashire’s magnificent Anglican Cathedral. Membership benefits include:

How to Become a Friend
As a Friend of Blackburn Cathedral, you will be actively supporting the life and work of our Cathedral. It is a wonderfully enriching experience and we are always delighted to welcome new members.
Membership of the Friends helps you support the Cathedral and ensure the funds we raise go to specific targeted projects and we have four categories of membership:
Single annual (for individuals who wish to pay an annual subscription), Joint annual – (for couples who which to pay an annual subscription), Life members (a one off lifetime subscription) and Corporate (an annual subscription for schools, businesses, charities or other such bodies).
The Friends of Blackburn Cathedral is an independent registered Charity (Registration Number 1047234) which supports projects that benefit the Cathedral as selected by the members of its governing Council. We are governed by the rules of our Constitution and that of the Charity Commission.
